1912: A Three-Way Race
Roosevelt’s image was something of an icon in itself. His cowboy hat, round glasses, thick mustache and toothy grin all added up to a familiar and down-to-earth character. His fondness for neckerchiefs led easily to the choice of the bandanna as a political statement.
