Ezra Exhibition Opening

See: Library exhibition celebrates Ezra Cornell’s 200th birthday

4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

“I Would Found an Institution”: The Ezra Cornell Bicentennial exhibition will open in the Hirshland Exhibition Gallery, in Carl A. Kroch Library. This event is open to the Ithaca community, and the trustees of Cornell University will be invited to this gathering. A reception will follow in the gallery.

Library Salute to Ezra

See: Cake, balloons and 'any person': Cornell celebrates Ezra Cornell's 200th birthday

11:15 a.m.

Carol Kammen, Sr. Lecturer from the History Department and the historian of Tompkins County, will give a short presentation about Ezra Cornell in the Lecture Room, Level 2B, Kroch Library. There will be an opportunity for media interviews and photographs of objects and documents from the Ezra Collection.

12:00 p.m.

Birthday cake in Olin Cafe. Trustee Ezra Cornell, the great-great-great grandson of the founder, will cut the cake and say a few words.

12:30 p.m. - 12:45 p.m.

Chimes concert by Chimesmaster Gretchen Ryan will feature songs from the 19th century and a special rendition of “Happy Birthday”. The Chimes concert will be available on Cornell Cast by January 18th.
