Focus on Art

In conjunction with her last public exhibition, held at Ithaca's Upstairs Gallery in 1981, Alison Mason Kingsbury gave an interview with Johnnie Parrish for the local public access television program Focus on Art. In the episode, A. M. K. discusses her life as an artist and her most recent work, with a particular focus on the works featured in her "Drawings and Paper Pictures" show for the benefit of Ithaca's Family and Children Center. The eighty-three year-old artist speaks very matter-of-factly about such topics as her work as an assistant for muralist Ezra Winter, her extensive book illustrations, how she came to the medium of collage and cut-paper, and her disdain for clutter.
