One folder of miscellaneous patent specifications & correspondence, 1936-1945, relating to the use of rayon or mercerized cotton cord to reinforce rubber products such as tires and belting. Also includes misc. records including dye formulae, 1860's; machinery contracts and estimates, 1915-19, for Hawthorn Spinning Mills, Clover, S.C.; foreign patent negotiations for yarn treating devices, 1915-1930; cost analyses, 1923-1957. Also data reported to U.S. Dept. of Labor concerning number of hours worked, payroll, etc., 1931-50; undated essay on spinning; correspondence, 1909-10, from R.B. Hawley to F.N. Graves & Co. concerning Eastern European wool purchases.

Records include notes on construction and operation of machinery, ca. 1890's; machinery estimates, 1912; machinery prices, 1915, 1919; record of power purchased, 1923-1926; data reported to the U.S. Department of Labor concerning number of hours worked, payrolls, etc., 1931-1950; audit report, 1920, and machinery contracts and estimates, 1915-1919, for Hawthorn Spinning Mills, Clover, S.C. Contains correspondence, 1909-1910, from R.B. Hawley to F.N. Graves & Company concerning Eastern European wool purchases. Also includes patent specifications and correspondence, 1936-1945, relating to the use of rayon and mercerized cotton cord to reinforce rubber products such as tires and belting; and correspondence, news clippings, etc., concerning foreign patent negotiations, 1915-1930, for yarn treating devices. Also includes undated essay on spinning.
