Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union members at the Scalamandre Silk Mill.
Photographs, oral histories, and research materials. "The Honor of Labor" traveling
exhibit consisted of 17 panels documenting production processes at the Scalamandre
Silk Mill in the Long Island City section of Queens, N.Y. It was shown at 1984 ACTWU
convention in Miami, Florida and at the American Labor Museum, Botto House National
Landmark in 1988-89. The collection inculdes research and documentation of the Scalamandre
Silk Mill as well as documentation of the exhibit installation.
Access to the collections in the Kheel Center is restricted. Please contact a reference
