ORGANIZATIONAL HISTORY

Existing agreements between the parties expired on August 31, 1952 but they were unable to reach an agreement. The five issues which could not be reconciled were:
1. A wage increase of 45 cents per hour
2. Incorporation of cost of living bonus
3. Union shop
4. Check-off of union dues
5. Elimination of the emergency clause
Having exhausted all other remedies, a Board of Conciliation was appointed under the Industrial Relations and Disputes Investigation Act.
