The largest international organization of free trade-unions the International Confederation of Free Trade-Unions, (ICFTU)
includes affiliated unions in 94 countries. The ICFTU was formed in 1949, when it seceded from the World Federation of
Trade Unions in protest of the alleged communist orientation of that body. ICFTU headquarters are in Brussels.
Includes reports of organizational minutes of the 2nd and 3rd meetings of the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions,
Council for Organising Campaign in France, held in Paris and Brussels, 1952-1953.
The reports deal with the following: union courses for miners, transport workers, and metal workers; special trade-union courses
for Polish miners; and future education programs in France. Also reports of the International Metalworkers
Federation, Railwaymen's Federation, National Federation of Workers in the Electricity and Gas Industries, Federation
of Building and Wood Workers, Federation of Textile Workers of France and France Overseas, National Federation of Workers
in
the Chemical and Glass Industries, National Federation of Port and Dock Workers and workers in allied trades.
