Proclaiming "the heart of any home is the modern gas kitchen,"
this recipe booklet, issued by a local gas company, promotes "fast,
flexible, economical cooking heat." By the 1930s, gas ranges with
"automatic" pilot lights added convenience to the other desirable
features of cooking with gas.
