State Veterinary College in Ithaca, New York.

Ray Steere Banks was born August 30, 1889 in Edmeston, New York, and raised in New Berlin, New York. His father was Charles
L. Banks and his mother was Jessie Blanch Steere Banks. He came to Cornell in 1908 and graduated with a DVM degree with the
Class of 1911. He became a supervising veterinarian at the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, where he
served for nearly 25 years. He died August 19, 1957.
