The Parma Lodge of Masons, with members from Parma and Ogden, received its charter
from the Grand Lodge of New York in 1822. The first installation of officers was
held on January 23, 1822, with the Reverend Eliphalet M. Spencer delivering the
discourse. During its history the Lodge discussed moving its location to Greece,
Ogden and other locations. Finally on November 20, 1830, the Lodge voted to give up
its charter, dissolve the Lodge and return the charter to the Grand Lodge.
The records include meeting minutes which discuss routine matters of membership
including requests for membership, advancement through the degrees and discipline of
members as well as financial and operational matters of the lodge. There are
registers of members for 1822-1826.
