ORGANIZATIONAL HISTORY

The First Methodist Episcopal Church began as part of the Ontario Circuit. In 1821 it became part of th Geneva Circuit. In 1831 the church held a large revival lasting three months and taking in one hundred and fifty persons. The Cokesbury Chapel was sold in 1860, and its members joined at Canandaigua.
