The First Methodist Episcopal Church began as part of the Ontario Circuit. In 1821 it
became part of th Geneva Circuit. In 1831 the church held a large revival lasting
three months and taking in one hundred and fifty persons. The Cokesbury Chapel was
sold in 1860, and its members joined at Canandaigua.

register (1838-1885); trustee meeting minutes (1861-1873); and quarterly conference
meeting minutes of the Canandaigua Station (1860-1890).
