ORGANIZATIONAL HISTORY

Garden City, Nassau County, Long Island, New York, was founded in 1869 as a planned community. By 1876, A.T. Stewart had founded and built the village on a portion of his tract at Hempstead Plains. Garden City was incorporated in 1919.
