ORGANIZATIONAL HISTORY

The Andrew D. White Competition was an annual architectural design problem suggested by former Cornell University President Andrew Dickson White. The 1906 problem was "An Auditorium for Cornell University." The program was written by M.J. Prevot, design professor.

COLLECTION DESCRIPTION

Plans and elevations of three winning designs submitted for the Andrew D. White Competition, 1906. First prize was awarded to Blanchard Mitchell Mackintosh, second prize was claimed by William Weatherly Hannon, and third prize winner H.P. Rogers, Jr. also garnered the Central New York Chapter of the American Institute of Architects Prize for his design. Also included is a typescript program for the design problem.
