The Hartford Carpet Corp. and the Bigelow Carpet Co., both incorporated in 1854,
merged in 1914 to become the Bigelow-Hartford Carpet Co. In 1924 that company merged
with Stephen Sanford & Sons, Amsterdam, New York and New York City, to become
the Bigelow-Sanford Carpet Co. The company had headquarters in New York City and
manufacturing plants in Thompsonville, Connecticut and Clinton, Massachusetts
Includes an auditor's report, 1924, for Bigelow-Hartford; a March 1925 issue of the
Bigelow magazine; notices of annual meetings and reports to stockholders, 1924-1925,
for Bigelow-Sanford; reports on its stocks, properties, etc., 1915 and 1927, from
