Biographical / Historical

This was a voluntary arbitration proceeding by agreement on August 8, 1946 between the parties. The arbitrator Mr. Saul Wallen was assisted by Col. B. T. Fay as the representative of the company and David Zimring as representative of the union.
The issue was a wage increase. The union supported its case by reference to increases granted by other transit companies, awards on similar arbitration cases and the provisions of other transit contracts. The company attempted to prove that there factors were not relevant to its case.
