The colophon records the publication of this edition Nelle case defigliuoli di Aldo (in the house of Aldos sons). This is the fifth and final Aldine edition published by the great Renaissance printing house in Venice. Several editions of Petrarchs Italian poetry are titled simply The Petrarch, the poets name summarizing succinctly the resonance of his verse throughout the Renaissance.
