Early Publications and Documents, 1910-1956

Letter from Alpha Phi Alpha National Office to Leslie Thompson, Alpha Chapter. October 15, 1922 [view image]

This letter voices concern about Alpha Phi Alpha’s status, and the perceived threat from other black fraternities, including Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, which it names specifically. However, the writer adds that “the above should be no cause for grave worry...but should act as a stimulus to every true Brother of Alpha Phi Alpha to spread the fair name and high ideals of this organization, live according to its high standards, fulfill every obligation and duty owed to your Chapter and support your Fraternity in its plans for the forthcoming conventions.”
