As Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity grew and expanded, it needed rules and regulations to unite and govern each chapter and its general body. The founding of an official publication allowed the growing membership to share chapter news, relay general convention minutes and rulings, and generally, to inform members about fraternity events, rules, and mandates.
