Alpha Phi Alpha’s War Secretary, Emory B. Smith, tells Robert Cook of Alpha Chapter about the establishment of the General Office of War Secretary and its duties. The duties included, in part, keeping “the fraternity in touch with brothers in the Army,” keeping those serving “in touch with fraternity affairs,” and reporting “all war news of fraternity interest to the Editor of The Sphinx.”
