Mattachine: Homophile Publications
Publications were an important product of the homophile movement. The inaugural issue of Mattachine Review expressed the hope that the magazine would allow “people to read the truth concerning the sex variant” and support “the principles upon which Mattachine was founded - research and education of the sex-variant himself and of society at large.”
