"The Doctor named me, knowing not
  Whether my claws made scratch or dot
Whether my teeth were long or short
  Whether my voice was roar or snort;

"So to escape his deadly gun
  And save my skull and spin I'll run."
Then backword from the cave he came
  And tracks thro' snow he made the same.

The sportsmen eaguer came from shore;
  And viewed the tracks with hunter's lord,
Then, with accord in phalanx bold
  They entered in the recess cold.

Lo! soon its emptiness they found
  And by the doctor gathered round.
"A mystery here!" they loudly shout,-
  "The toe's point in - the bear is out!"

      ---- " ---- " ----

Your error we can plainly see -
  Your bear must pterodactyl be,
For wings alone could leave this place
  And show of outward tracks no trace.
Hence Glarier Bear both still remain
  A type ne'er seen on hill or plane.
