Abstract:
Records of the organization. Includes files from G.R.O.W. (Gay Revolution of Women), book lists from the mid-1970s, correspondence, press releases, and material about gay activism in New York State in the mid-1970s. A letter from Robert Roth is included. Various feminist and gay publications and periodicals will be cataloged separately.

COLLECTION DESCRIPTION

Series I contains administrative files, including financial files, working files, etc. The folders contained in the sub-series "DC" (Directions Committee?) were labeled and grouped as such, and were kept together during processing. Since most of the files in this sub-series seemed related to administrative work, they were placed in that series.
Series II contains miscellaneous correspondence.
Series III contains files relating to the work done by GAGV. Information on various services provided by GAGV, such as their resource center and peer counseling hotline, are included. Also included is information relating to events run by GAGV, including the yearly Gay Picnic and various dances. Files on community work, political work, and work with other New York State organization are also included. Many of the files on other organizations (contained in the "Other Local Organizations" sub-series) include meeting minutes, notes, etc. from the 1970's and 80's. Also, information on the publication The Empty Closet
Series IV contains media and subject files.
