Biographical / Historical

H. Emmons Ogden was born in Ellis Hollow in Dryden, New York on July 21, 1902, son of Horton, born in 1871, and Edith Locke Ogden, born October 1st, 1874, daughter of Henry D. Locke and Mary Gilbert. He had two sisters: Florence P. Ogden, born in 1896, and Clara Elizabeth Ogden, born September 30, 1901.

Scope and content

Includes 11 diaries of Priscilla Hunt (Ogden), dated 1864-1874; five account books of Horton Hunt, dated 1867-1869; and eight diaries of Henry D. Locke, dated 1863-1917; correspondence including Civil War letters of Charles Gilbert; and a photograph of the Ellis homestead.
