Scrapbook of Jeffrey Arnold Diver, covering his years in R.O.T.C., the Vietnam War, and events leading to his becoming a conscientious objector; and Selective Service documents of Jeffrey Diver, Geoffrey A. Holmes, and Howard Cornell in support of their applications for conscientious objector status. Also, files regarding Diver's employment at Cornell University Library starting in Olin Library in 1969 as fulfillment of his military service obligations as a conscientious objector, followed by work at the Mann Reserve Desk, 1974-1984, and his service on the University Senate, beginning in 1975.

Scope and content

Also, handouts relating to Cornell Library acquisitions of gay and lesbian books and journals, 1980; letters about the New York State Task Force on Gay Issues, 1984; and correspondence relating to Cornell library card privileges for domestic partners. Includes responses on gay issues from New York State congressperson and a 1984 CUGALA (Cornell University Gay and Lesbian Alumni Association) letter. Lastly, a 1975 letter from Micahel A. Shell, Administrative Secretary, Uris Library, to Library staff about pending New York State gay rights legislation.
