or written by Eddy. Most of the material deals with public health, especially pneumonia
control, and the public health activities of the New York State Department of Health
and the New York Home Bureau.

Martha Eddy graduated from Vassar College with an A.B. degree in 1905 and was appointed
to the Cornell faculty in 1932. While at Cornell, she was a member of many policy-making
committees in both the Colleges of Home Economics and Agriculture. During WWII she
was head of the Women's Land Army in New York State. After her retirement in 1949,
Eddy was appointed Director of Women's Activities at the New York State Fair.
