Student Work in the 1950's

In the 1950s Frederick Edmundson `32 began offering courses in site planning and urban design, including such class projects as Waikiki Beach in Hawaii, a uranium mining town in Canada, and the Grand Bahamas resort area.

City planning students produced a design for the new capital city of Brazil. The work was shown and explained at a meeting at the Pan-American Union. The models, drawings, and reports from the study were then presented to the Brazilian Embassy.
